Too Late by Boonaa Mohammed

You're dying,
And you don't even know it, never saw it coming
But you were so young, so much life, so much loving
So much hope, so much sorrow, I guess so much for tomorrow,
Your family will miss you dearly, still can't believe that you're gone
The news hasn't sunk in; they still think you're coming home
When things don't go our way, the entire world must be wrong
They say it wasn't your time, but to Allah we belong
Your soul left your body, before you had the chance to say goodbye
It caught you unexpected, within the blink of an eye
You were busy with the world, when you felt a tingle in your spine
Your heart began to race, your eyes became blind
Coming closer to the light, was this a trick from your mind?
Or did you really just cross this life's finish line.
The cost of deception is that everyone's gotta die
In a world where everybody is just trying to stay alive
Even if you aren't ready, it could come at anytime
Doesn't ask for your permission, doesn't need you to co-sign
The dirt is getting ready and your hole has been assigned
Your mother helps to wash your body one last time
Prayed your janazh, it was raining cats and dogs
They put you in the ground and now you're all alone
Hearing footsteps of your friends as they begin to moan
We wish you all the best, so sad you had to go
People talk about death, but what about when death talks to you
Rips the soul from your body, will you finally say it's true?
The good may die young; the bad still gotta die too
Every soul shall taste a sip from this restless brew
This is the day that you were promised, your grand debut
No turning back now, no make-ups, no re-dos
From this point on there is no need to review
It's just do or die or in your case just do
It's all you, the real absolute moment of truth
And just like that, perfectly on cue
Two angels enter your grave, sit you up and ask you
Who is your Lord?
But in this world you only worshipped you,
Obedient to your desires, a slave to your own views
What is your religion?
Don't say it was this deen,
Your last name never stopped you from your wicked routines
Who is your prophet?
You heard the people say his name,
But you never stopped to defend him when they spoke it in vain
You didn't pray the long nights; you didn't fast the long days
You didn't even bother trying to seek forgiveness for mistakes
You didn't have any fear, you weren't sincere
That Quran on your bookshelf was just a souvenir
In fact it was quite clear that you loved this place
And never thought you would have to witness what awaits
Well get ready for your fate, the promise of your Lord is great
When you're brought right back forth from that dirt you came
And make no mistake, the scale makes no mistakes
Indeed every deed shall receive its due weight
So deceive as you please until you see it's too late
You would squeeze the seven seas for the chance to prostrate
Where are your American idols, let them keep you safe
Or perhaps you will find mercy in the money you chased
Why couldn't you just stop to take a break and see into your future,
Walal-akhiratu khayrun laka mina al-oola
But now look at you; you are the definition of a loser
Doomed to dwell in hell, oh well at least it suits you
Every moment awake, you receive your reward
To feed on a fire whose fuel is men and stones
Boiling puss, in chains and yoke
Skinned ripped from flesh, from flesh till bone
Begging the keepers of hell to lighten the load
But this is exactly what you asked for
You choose the torment, you refused to repent
You had the answers to the test and you still didn't prep
For eternity you will rest in the lowest depths,
Step by step, I must confess
You're dying, but you haven't died yet
But with every single heartbeat you get closer to your final breath
Yesterday you were one day closer to your grave
Today who even knows if you'll even make it home ok
I just pray that you are ready for your final exam
Until that day don't you dare die except in a state of Islam
Heaven and Hell are just the choices that we make
So turn back to you Lord, before it's too late

"Media’s Message of Islam" by Sabrina F.

Many false things have been said about the religion Islam and its followers, Muslims, by the unhelpful portrayal of the media. Do you let others think and judge for you or not?

Why do you judge my people by looks?
We’ve all heard to not do the same to books,
You assume things by the actions of “Muslims by name”,
To some, when it comes to Islam, it’s all a game.

Maybe it’s because of what you’ve heard or seen,
The media is all for making Muslims sound mean,
You publicize the bad acts and even make up your own,
You start trouble to hurt Muslims both young and grown.

You hear of women covered from head to toe,
You call them oppressed but you really don’t know,
We do it to dress modestly, please Allah, and follow his command,
We won’t give in to your unfair and dirty demands.

Maybe you’ve seen men with kufis on their head,
“Going to the Masjid (mosque) to teach violence,” the media says,
Or, perhaps Muslim men growing a beard and wearing Islamic clothes,
Facing Makkah for prayers lined up in straight rows.

You call us dangerous, crazy, and lame,
But, in some ways it brought Islam great fame,
After 9/11 more people became curious of Islam and to learn the truth,
It even reached the ears of some of the youth.

Bringing reverts to Islam, believers of its message so true,
Since then, the numbers of Muslims worldwide grew,
InshAllah (God willing) Islam will rise like the past to see the light,
So, to the ones who slander Islam, please stop the fight!

Reasoning the Existence of God with Abdur Raheem Green (my notes included)

For Muslims, faith is established with evidence, understanding, and insight.

Fundamentals
1. The universe and world in which we live in is real and everything in it is real ex humans, air, sun, etc. and the way we understand our world and ourselves is through observation and using our mind to think and reason.
2. All human beings have something in common that makes them a human, common sense! We can all agree that part of something is less than the whole of the thing and we don’t find something coming from nothing.

• Look at the universe and the world in which you live in and at yourself. When observing these, you will find things working according to laws, systems, and patterns that are amazing in their intricacy and details.
1. Ex. Imagine the earth rotating very slowly where a day would be equal to years instead of rotating on its axis every 24 hours. One part of the earth’s surface would be in constant sunlight and the other side would be in darkness resulting in one half being super hot and the other being extremely cold. Life would be impossible to exist!
2. Ex. If there was no ozone layer protecting us from the harmful radiations of the sun, life on earth would not exist!

Could this perfect combination of gases and movement be a product of some random event, of chance and coincidence? Use common sense! There is nothing in human experience that tells us that you can get precise order from a random event. When something is working according to orders, laws, or patterns, we know someone or something is behind it and is making it work.

Ex. 1- Archeologists can dig in the dessert and find a simple piece of pottery and tell us many things about the civilization that made that pottery without seeing the people, their houses, etc. such as their technology, transportation, level of intellect, etc. For the archeologist, the piece of pottery is proof of the people and civilization that made it.
Ex. 2- Cell phone is made of silicon (sand) and plastic (oil). Imagine a cell phone was “said” to be found in the dessert of Saudi Arabia where there is a lot of sand and oil, a product of complete chance and coincidence, a random event. This is ridiculous!

The human brain, and all other organs, is more complex than cell phones, computers, etc.

Can we believe that these are the results of some random event?

Human experience and reason tells us that when something is in order, it is a product of intelligence that has ordered it and made it work according to laws and patterns

Ask 3 Questions
1. Did the universe come from nothing? Did we come from nothing? Does anything come from nothing? No, especially something complex like the human body!
2. Did it create itself? Did the universe create itself? Did we create ourselves? No! We do not attribute to the universe and everything in it the ability to create ex. the universe is made of stars and galaxies that do not have the ability to create or make orders, but they need to be ordered and need a Creator.
3. Did humans create the universe? No, because we need a creator ourselves.

Conclusion of the Rational Mind
The universe needs a Creator and an organizer and we need an explanation of how the universe came to be and how we came to exist the way we are. It makes sense that there is something different outside and separate from this universe that created, organized, and sustains this universe in which we live.

The Creator!
• The Creator is different and distinct from creation. Creation is needy, temporary, and in need of a sustainer.
• The nature must be different of the Creator from its creation. If both were of the same nature, then the creator would need a creator who would need a creator and so on. Creators would be creating creators forever?!
• Who created the Creator is not a valid question since the nature of the Creator is different from its creation ex. the Creator is eternal, infinite, without beginning and end, self-sufficient, ever- living, etc. Something that is self sufficient and ever-living does not need a Creator!

Why is the belief in such a being logically and rationally necessary?

If you need help moving furniture and the helper needs help who needs help who needs help etc. then the furniture will never get moved! Likewise, if creator where creating creators infinitely, then nothing would get created, but creation does exist, thus there has to be a creator who is different from its creation.
If there was more than 1 creator, then there would be chaos, but the intricacy and details proves that there is 1 powerful, wise, and intelligent force behind it all!

Conclusion
This universe has a creator who is different from the creation. Creator is wise and powerful and there is only 1!

• Of all the religions and ideologies in the world, there is only one that teaches us to believe in 1 creator who is eternal, self sufficient, infinite, wise, and powerful, and is different and distinct from creation.
• Many religions claim to be this 1 religion but they compromise it in one way or another
1. Ex. 1. Hinduism generally believes that creation is god; god is everywhere and in everything, which really is pantheism. Creation cannot be the same as God!
2. Ex. 2. Christianity- Jesus was god, Jesus was manifestation of god. Something cannot be the creator and created, eternal and infinite, finite and temporary, self-sufficient and needy, all at the same time!

• There is only one religion that teaches us to believe in 1 creator who sustains the universe, who is eternal, self sufficient, infinite, wise, and powerful, and is different and distinct from creation. Can be either Judaism or Islam.
• If you want to become Jew, then you have to be born Jew, your mother has to be a Jewish woman.
• Islam is a universal religion for anyone. Learn about Islam and read the Quran for yourself to find out about God.

Surah Ikhlas (purity of faith)
1. Say he is Allah, the one.
2. Allah is the one who everyone and everything needs, but He is not in need of anything (self-sufficient).
3. He does not give birth (he creates) nor was he given birth to.
4. Nothing can be compared to Him.

We cannot picture or imagine how God looks. He is unique from his creation!

What is Islam?

Can you find a religion:
1. Which could stop time?
2. Which could make grown men cry like a child for no reason?
3. Which unites different races in a brother/sisterhood more stronger than their own blood relationships?
4. Which considers women as precious pearls and commands all its followers to protect, respect, and give rights to her as a mother, sister, wife, and daughter? The only religion that refuses to use women as an object and tool to make money!
5. Which makes giving charity an article of faith, commands you to give your parents the utmost respect and be kind to orphans?

That religion is Islam!
When are you going to study it and decide for yourself what is right and what is wrong?
