Pork, Death, Prisoners, and Reverts to Islam

Sorry for MIA, but it felt good to take a break and come back to watching some videos again. Here are some favorite videos I watched recently and wanted to share. This is a random assortment, but sometimes different is good :)

1. This video on pork isn't a "favorite", but I wanted to share it. I couldn't even finish it because it was disgusting, but it goes to show that Allah really knows and wants what is best for all of us. Alhamdulillah for being a Muslim <3 I don't know how after knowing all this, someone could still enjoy eating pork, so please share this with those you know who can benefit from the information.



2. This made me cry a bit... Everyone isn't guaranteed life, but we are all guaranteed death. May we all return to Allah in a state that He is pleased with us. Ameen.



3. An amazing story with a great reminder towards the end. May Allah free our brothers and sisters in Islam. Ameen.



4. Another video that made me cry... Sad to see how far people will go to hurt Muslims, even if it is family.



5. This is a documentary, so it is longer, but worth watching. Really interesting and a lot to learn. I enjoy learning about new Muslims, so I loved watching this!

Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Decree)

We are in the last few days of the last 10 nights of Ramadan!!! May Allah help us successfully find the special night of Laylatul Qadr and make the most of it. Ameen. Here is a list of beneficial information about Laylatul Qadr.

I regret I didn't do this earlier and I am NOT posting this today to single out the 27th night as special from the other last 10 odd nights. I just happen to finally stop procrastinating today... Anyways, to the point of the post.

Dua in Ramadan

May Allah forgive all Muslims around the world for ALL of our sins. Ameen. May Allah help all the Muslims around the world who are suffering and in pain. Ameen. May Allah bring us closer to Him, increase our faith and trust in Him, and help us sincerely worship and remember Him as much as possible during Ramadan. Ameen. May Allah make us amongst those who get ALL their sins forgiven and who the Hellfire is forbidden for. Ameen.

Sad Truth About Some Parents/ Families :(

May Allah help us change for the better and His sake. May Allah make us strong in our faith in Him and Islam during times of criticism and hate. May Allah help the older generation practice and teach Islam to the younger generation based on Islam, not culture and personal preference. Ameen.



This video reminded me of something I read a few days ago that seriously surprised me and hurts to even mention, but inshAllah it is something to learn from. Please read below.

"One of the scholars from Riyadh narrated that they visited a hospital and found a man with his daughter, who was very ill. The daughter was forty years old and had never married, for every man who had come for her, her father rejected.

The scholar said that the woman’s father was from the greediest of people. The father was a person of the dunya, but his dunya did not benefit him. He had many offices: real-estate, cars and clinics; however, it was known amongst the people that if his daughter were to be married, a suitor cannot marry her except with hundreds of thousands [in wealth]. Thus, all of the young men who came to propose were rejected because they were youth lacking wealth. And due to the circumstances of the people, the men wishing to marry her could not afford to pay the high mahr [stipulated by the father, not the daughter herself]. So every righteous man who came, he was asked about his employment and his cars and his salary and if the suitor informed the father that he did not have the precise qualifications he stipulated, then he was turned away. This continued until the daughter reached forty years of age. Then she suffered an acute illness and was admitted to the hospital. Then, due to the severity of her illness, death became imminent. And, certainly, death is the time to meet the One who judges between parties, and there is no Judge except Him, the One who implements justice between the oppressed and the oppressor. 

When it was clear to the daughter that her death was but moments away, she said to her father, who sat at her bedside:

 

“O Father, come close!” So he came close to her.

She said to him, “Say Ameen.” So he said, “Ameen.”

She said again, “Say Ameen!” So he said, “Ameen.”

Then she said a third time, “[O Father!] Say Ameen.” And he said, “Ameen.” Then she said to him these final words before passing away: “May Allah prohibit for you Paradise as you have prohibited for me the delicacy of marriage.”

Do we at least make dua for them?

"The only reason He let you watch them suffer, was to see if you care..." May Allah make us amongst those who really care for the Muslims suffering in Syria and around the world by at least making dua for them and even more by giving (more) from our time and wealth. May Allah guide us to change what is in our hearts so the condition of the Ummah can change. May Allah grant the Muslims victory against the disbelievers and hypocrites. Ameen.

The Meaning of Life Spoken Word Poetry

What are we doing here and where are we going to go
It's like we just woke up one morning and then it's welcome to the show
Don't ask any questions just go with the flow
Make as much money as you can and try your best not to get broke
Copy everything you see on the tv
From the hairstyles to the clothes
And don't think too often just do exactly as you're told
You ever get confused then turn towards the alcohol
You still hear your thoughts? Then just turn up the radio
As you learn to live a lifestyle of drugs, sex and rock n roll

But in all honesty I just need to know
Is there more to the cycle than growing and getting old
Living and dying just to leave behind a happy home
And a whole lot of property that somebody else is going to own
I just really need to know before the caskets closed
Cause I'm not willing to gamble with my soul nor am I ready to take any chances
These are just simple life questions and I'm just searching for some answers
Like what are we doing here and what is our purpose?
How did we get here and who made us so perfect?
And what happens once we go or is this world all really worth it?
Questions we don't answer because apparently we don't really have to
There's no purpose to this life and our existence merely natural?
In that case please let me ask you.

Did you create yourself or was it somebody else that had fashioned you?
Because you're a being that's impeccable, faultless, and unparalleled.
You are a product of supreme intelligence and I'm merely being rational
For there isn't a camera on this earth that can come close to the human eye
Nor a computer that can compete alongside the human mind
And if the whole world was to come together we wouldn't be able to create a single fly
So many signs yet we still deny
As science tries to justify that all this could come from none
When it's a simple sum
Zero plus zero plus zero cannot possibly ever give you one.

So from where did all this order come?
For everything has it's origins, a maker, a creator of it's own
I mean the only reason your watching this video is because somebody had to press upload
So you can believe in the Big Bang but I'd rather Believe in He who caused it to explode.
Allah, the creator of the universe along with every single soul
The Everliving, the Master the only one who is in control
Unlike his creation, beyond our imagination and NO
He's not a man nor has he any partners in association, He's on his own.
And neither did He ever leave us alone
Just like every manufacturer he left us with an instruction manual
The Quran and Islam and I'm sorry to jump to conclusions but it's the only one possible.
The only definition of God as the One and Only, supreme being its logical,
A book with zero contradictions and miracles that are both scientific and historical.

All revealed over 1400 years ago
Like the detailed description of the human embryo
To the mountains as pegs holding firm the earth below
and the two seas that don't mix in a complete separate flow
to the planets in orbit alternating night and day as they stay in float
The expansion of the Universe and the creation of everything from H20
to the stories of the past and the preservation of Pharaoh.
To identifying the lowest point in the land where Persia defeated Rome
The gushing fluid that created man in the glands between the ribs and the backbone.
And not a word has changed it's still the same
So please explain how all this was known over 1400 years ago?
To a man who couldn't read or write, as he would recite what the angel spoke.
And if you still don't believe please come up with something that's even close.
But you can't.
So we took God as a mockery and his Messengers as a joke
Dismissed his scriptures as legends and tales of the ancient folk.

As we live life according to our whims, desires and hopes
Saying this life is the only home we will ever know
We will live then die and simply turn to bones YOLO.
Correction: After the grass dies the rain arrives and it re-grows
And Allah promises to do the same thing to your very soul
And bring you back from your very fingertips to your toes.
As the All Seeing Supreme Being watches us so close as we are surely being tested.
In our wealth, our health, our self and everything that we've been blessed with
So believe for we will surely be resurrected.
And be brought back to our Lord in account for every single deed
As He hands us our books and orders us to "READ!"
From the bad to the good and everything in between
You, yourself are sufficient for your own accountability
So don't be mad at me,
(Your Lord says,) "You were the one who thought you wouldn't come back to me.
I gave you a whole life long to search after me."
But you were busy chasing all that which was temporary
So read, and glad tidings to all those who believed, but if you disbelieve
READ
And don't let that day be the first day you find out what life really means.
READ.
